@wallhackio I tried to play it years ago and got into the first level and went "Oh my god I'm not ready"

And I still feel that way so I'm grinding the gauntlet

@amy I got my ass BEAT when I played FPSs for the first time, they design these games like you've been playing call of duty for a decade, it takes some time to get it

@wallhackio I'm not new to FPSes! I'm relatively good at them I think!! Titanfall 2 is just hard as nails hehe

@wallhackio TF2 (ha ha ha ha) and Ultrakill are the big ones

@amy ah yeah overwatch/tf2 and battlefield/cod are two opposite sides of a spectrum in my opinion

titanfall is definitely on the battlefield/cod side

(it's actually not a spectrum its a triangle with a corner for counterstrike/valorant but whatever)

@wallhackio @amy where are Doom and Quake on the spectrum

or Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Timesplitters...

@The_T @amy I actually have never played doom and quake so its possible its a pentagon

@wallhackio @amy I would say Doom and Quake are definitely in the same quadrant, as the latter 3 games are (in their own quadrant together)

@The_T @amy does the movement have a lot of inertia or is it snappy and responsive?

@wallhackio @amy 🤔 both?

Doom and Quake are both about moving very fast. They are definitely, precursors to Ultrakill.

@The_T @amy okay right now I think its a square:

cod/battlefield
doom/quake/ultrakill
valorant/counterstrike
goldeneye-likes

@wallhackio @amy 🤷 sure! I dunno what valorant and counterstrike are like

nor cod/battlefield besides "boring"

@The_T @amy battlefield 1 in particular kicks ass but none of the other battlefields hit for me

there are some good cods but its probably best not to mess with them because of the way that they are

@wallhackio @amy I think, I want to get "into" FPSes... but when I say that, I really mean playing old Doom and Quake...

it's been on my mind for a while.

Because when I played that as a kid, I didn't use a mouse, you didn't really do mouse-and-keyboard back then for games...

So I'd like to learn it and do that...

@The_T @amy i played modern shooters for the first time as an adult and even though i have played lots of videogames my whole life it was a MASSIVE learning curve.

really really fun, and i eventually became a very fine battlefield 1 player, but i had 0 intuition for it

@The_T @amy it would probably be a big learning curve again if i played doom or quake! that would be a great time probably

@wallhackio @amy yeah, that's definitely how I feel like I am...

I didn't even play Doom and Quake a ton, but I adored Perfect Dark and Timesplitters 2 and 3.

I wanna do a co-op Let's Play of the latter 2, they're very good co-op games.

@The_T @amy oh i would LOVE to play timesplitters with you some time

@wallhackio @amy haha. I'm not sure how well netplay would work... it might? not sure. I don't think it had LAN play...?

But for the co-op, I'd probably do it with a friend IRL...
