@amy @wallhackio god that makes me remember how i had the same feelings about dark souls n goin blight town the first time... and also how i got stuck at the fukin gargoyles boss duo, but when i finally decided to brave it after not touching the game for a couple years and i was like "...dude how tf did i have trouble with this"
@AsterMeadows @amy sometimes sleeping on it and coming back tomorrow can overcome any videogame boss
@amy I got my ass BEAT when I played FPSs for the first time, they design these games like you've been playing call of duty for a decade, it takes some time to get it
@wallhackio I'm not new to FPSes! I'm relatively good at them I think!! Titanfall 2 is just hard as nails hehe
@wallhackio Rowan thinks that I'm fumbling in Titanfall 2 because it's a game that wants to just feel good and flow, but I play it like Ultrakill where I am in command of my destiny and have to be pushing every button in the world
@amy @wallhackio this is also how you play fighting games, I feel like
@The_T @wallhackio I mean in fighting games you are in command of your destiny and do have to be pressing a very specific series of buttons
@amy @wallhackio yeah, but I still feel like the way I play is closer to a flow than a pushing buttons; like yes, I am doing the physical act of pushing buttons, but it's so much more disconnected. I am thinking "do a hadouken" and then I just do the motion, not thinking about the motion.
Basically it's what makes footsies feel good, the same seratonin of kiting someone, teasing someone, waiting for them to fall into my trap...
And also probably why I don't memorize combos
@The_T @wallhackio I think you misunderstand how I feel when I play fighting games tbh
@amy @wallhackio maybe a little. We should play more.
@amy what FPSs have you played?
@wallhackio TF2 (ha ha ha ha) and Ultrakill are the big ones
@amy ah yeah overwatch/tf2 and battlefield/cod are two opposite sides of a spectrum in my opinion
titanfall is definitely on the battlefield/cod side
(it's actually not a spectrum its a triangle with a corner for counterstrike/valorant but whatever)
@wallhackio @amy where are Doom and Quake on the spectrum
or Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Timesplitters...
@wallhackio @amy 👉👈 I only play old games it seems...
@wallhackio @amy I would say Doom and Quake are definitely in the same quadrant, as the latter 3 games are (in their own quadrant together)
@wallhackio @amy 🤔 both?
Doom and Quake are both about moving very fast. They are definitely, precursors to Ultrakill.
@wallhackio @amy 🤷 sure! I dunno what valorant and counterstrike are like
nor cod/battlefield besides "boring"
@wallhackio @amy I think, I want to get "into" FPSes... but when I say that, I really mean playing old Doom and Quake...
it's been on my mind for a while.
Because when I played that as a kid, I didn't use a mouse, you didn't really do mouse-and-keyboard back then for games...
So I'd like to learn it and do that...
@wallhackio @amy yeah, that's definitely how I feel like I am...
I didn't even play Doom and Quake a ton, but I adored Perfect Dark and Timesplitters 2 and 3.
I wanna do a co-op Let's Play of the latter 2, they're very good co-op games.
@wallhackio I tried to play it years ago and got into the first level and went "Oh my god I'm not ready"
And I still feel that way so I'm grinding the gauntlet
