the AI assistant at my bank plays keyboard sound effects after you say anything before she responds to your question
AI: "How can I help you today?"
Me: "I would like to speak to a human being."
AI: [keyboard sfx] "Okay, great. I will transfer you to one of our operators."
@wallhackio It does sound kind of weird, but it's probably a comfort noise (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comfort_noise) to fill the gap between you stopping talking and then processing and forming a response. Besides keeping silence-based systems from clamping the volume down, it also indicates they know you've stopped talking (and should stay stopped).
@aschmitz oh interesting
the AI ignored my request btw and tried to solve it itself. it only sent me to a person the second time i asked
