the AI assistant at my bank plays keyboard sound effects after you say anything before she responds to your question

AI: "How can I help you today?"

Me: "I would like to speak to a human being."

AI: [keyboard sfx] "Okay, great. I will transfer you to one of our operators."

@wallhackio It does sound kind of weird, but it's probably a comfort noise (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comfort_) to fill the gap between you stopping talking and then processing and forming a response. Besides keeping silence-based systems from clamping the volume down, it also indicates they know you've stopped talking (and should stay stopped).
