Some things I wouldn't eat as a kid include

  • spaghetti sauce
  • fish sticks
  • bell peppers
  • frozen french fries
  • whole wheat bread
  • mashed potatoes
  • bananas

@wallhackio Wow, you're the opposite of me, these are some of the few things that I would eat

@vaporeon_ @wallhackio I didn't eat bell peppers because I thought they were spicy because they were called peppers.

@vaporeon_ @wallhackio oh wait, weird. I guess in some regions, bell peppers are called paprika.

In the US, paprika is a powder made from crushed red peppers.

@murz @The_T @wallhackio Yes, I thought pepperoni is a spicier type of pepper, but everyone on here seems to think that it's some type of meat? :psyduck:

@vaporeon_ @murz @wallhackio

Pepperoni is an American variety of spicy salami made from cured pork and beef seasoned with paprika and chili peppers.

Sliced pepperoni is one of the most popular pizza toppings in American pizzerias.

The term pepperoni is a borrowing of peperoni, the plural of peperone, the Italian word for bell pepper. The first use of pepperoni to refer to a sausage dates to 1916 at the latest. In Italian, the word peperoncino refers to a chili pepper.

@vaporeon_ @wallhackio oh wait no. paprika is made from red peppers. the spicy kind, I think?

@The_T @vaporeon_ @wallhackio yeah sorry I also did not realize paprika was made from peppers

bell peppers are the big sweet ones though

@The_T @wallhackio Is there some dish called "paprika"? To me, paprika is the thing that Clodsire just showed in the picture

@The_T @vaporeon_ @wallhackio there are mulitple kinds of paprika, some of which are spicy and some are not

@wallhackio @vaporeon_ @The_T they all look like red powder so its a fun and exciting guessing game where your only clues are cultural context

@The_T @vaporeon_ @wallhackio yeah i mean that one doesn’t look like a red powder until you turn the paprika into paprika i guess
