@vaporeon_ i only experienced perl for a couple weeks during a "programming language paradigm course" in 2017 (oh my GOD i am OLD) so i honestly am not too familiar with any of its use cases in the modern tech world
@wallhackio @vaporeon_ its purrimary use case is either fur the build systems of some old but impurrtant software, and in non-minimal builds of git

@wallhackio @vaporeon_ the linux kernel uses perl in its build system, so perl will likely never die
@wallhackio @vaporeon_ i’m pretty sure TeXLive has a runtime dependency on perl
