The free to play shenanigans in fortnite are ethically heinous but it is, unfortunately, also very fun

@coriander @wallhackio Unfortunately Fortnite is fun but it works poorly on my computer

@coriander @wallhackio I mean it's a shooter with a bunch of cool different guns and gizmos, it's hard ot fukc up too badly

@amy @coriander youtu.be/mhkusuaF954
back when I was playing the movement tech had a crazy skill ceiling it was a blast

@wallhackio @amy @coriander the character animations look kinda shit in this footage, there is no convincing sense of weight at all

@aescling @wallhackio @coriander Do you play video games for the sense of weight in the animatinos??

Follow

@amy @wallhackio @coriander i can get past it but i think good character animation is impurrtant and i miss it when it’s not there

@aescling @wallhackio @coriander I mostly just think it's unfair to judge a game's character animations by how they look in a video that got linked about movement tech :p

@amy @wallhackio @coriander i feel this way about segments where they’re just strafing around and shooting. the movement just looks Goddamn Weird

@aescling @amy @coriander its a tough thing because animation with weight tends to accompany movement with lots of inertia which is not what is happening here. The movement is snappy and responsive. So it's a tough thing to satisfy in this case

Plus a lot of the movement here was emergent and not at all designed so you have that on top of it as well
