I worry I'm coming off as anti-intellectual about it but like, i just mean that I'm not good at it and it's not what I was there for, clearly there is something valuable there a lot of the time

@monorail if you’re interested in analyzing/criticizing/“understanding”/whatever-you-wanna-call-it i would recommend finding a critic you like talking about a movie you love and following criticism more generally from there

@Lady @monorail oh yeah good point. i’ve heard this advice applied to writing lyrics recently, the idea being writing about things you don’t give a shit about makes it a lot easier to tolerate when you can’t write good lyrics yet
