I worry I'm coming off as anti-intellectual about it but like, i just mean that I'm not good at it and it's not what I was there for, clearly there is something valuable there a lot of the time

@Lady @monorail oh yeah good point. i’ve heard this advice applied to writing lyrics recently, the idea being writing about things you don’t give a shit about makes it a lot easier to tolerate when you can’t write good lyrics yet

@Lady @monorail also alternatively, look at criticism of a (likely not completely) movie you’re interested in watching, spoilers and all, and then watch it yourself, using that criticism as a starting point (that you are very free to disagree with when watching!)
