looking over a doc I wrote for background info on the homebrew world I use for running certain tabletop stuff, and:

"The College of Natural Sciences kindly reminds all Botany majors that their department is located in the College of Magic, and any and all complaints about nearly being eaten by experimental hybrids should be made at that office, thank you."

"It is also worth noting here that the Extremely Foreign Language Studies and Esoteric Foreign Language Studies departments are at war with each other and have been for the last thirty years. Students that wish to attend seminars in both departments are encouraged to borrow a Hat of Disguise Self or Ring of Alter Self from the office of the Dean before enrolling. Creation of a believable alter ego is strongly advised."

part of the setting at this particular juncture in time is about how the Math Department voted to remove itself from the College of Natural Sciences, but has yet to be accepted by any other College.

...so there are of course asides about that, as well.

"The College of Natural Sciences also would like to extend a warm welcome to the Mathematics Department and remind them that they are welcome back any day now."

@titania have i mentioned that our stats department hates the rest of the math department so much (justifiably??) that they left the entire college of arts and sciences and are now part of ag

@Satsuma no, but this was directly inspired by the fact that a friend of mine had to do a PhD through the ag department because what they were doing a PhD in (applied mathematics...) wasn't considered pure math enough for the math department, so I am not at all surprised 😂

@titania i love that they somehow also got sent to ag. Why is ag always the refuge of lost math students??

@Satsuma I have NO IDEA but at least ag is there to take them in???
