how did young people even find out about mastodon like did they read an article or……?

when i found out about mastodon it was because it was (a) new, (b) during the 2016 presidential election / immediate aftermath, and (c) queer techies were talking about it

(a) and (b) are not true anymore and the only people in the (c) camp are either already on mastodon or hate it
