@baronvonjace I haven't played FoM I've only watched @cam play it

@cam @lapis might be able to answer this question

@baronvonjace after talking to cam on discord some reasons to play FoM over Stardew Valley is:

  • lots of quality of life improvements to remove frustrations from NPC schedules interfering with shop availabitly and things of the like
  • better art
  • Juniper exists
  • NPC behavior that better emulates a community than Stardew's NPCs (FoM NPCs will interact with each other for instance)
  • the creator of Stardew is a white man and while he is cool IRL, the limitations of his life experience show

@wallhackio @baronvonjace My biggest gripe with Stardew is how painfully obvious it is that the entire game was written by one white man

@coriander @wallhackio @baronvonjace to be fair, i sometimes feel like it was a bit obvious that mistria's target demographic is het women cause like. some of the girls are kinda boring and it feels a bit like secret bachelor had much more effort put into him than secret bachelorette

@coriander @wallhackio @baronvonjace however, there is much more poc rep in mistria. oh, also all the marriage candidates feel like adults, like there are a few that live with relatives but it doesn't feel like they're too young to be getting married

@coriander @wallhackio @baronvonjace vs with stardew some of the marriage candidates' conflicts with their parents make me feel like they're freshly 18 or something

@cam @wallhackio @baronvonjace Yeah a lot of the Stardew marriages but especially the women feel like teenagers

@coriander @cam I mean, I was getting into arguments with my parents when I was taking online classes in community college. So when I see Abigail I see a lot of the version of myself in my 20s in her

Follow

@wallhackio @coriander @cam okay but i would not want to date myself in my 20s either
