this story has good gay moments but you don't need to give link the backstory of luke skywalker
@coriander they're both farmboys but this author has clearly bought into the whole hero narrative arc where somebody gets a taste of adventure but their dad or uncle disapproves but then their whole family gets murdered and they pick up a sword
@Lady That doesn't even sort of slot into any of Link's experiences or the narrative aims of Zelda as a whole!
@coriander in fairness there is SOME similarity to the opening of Twilight Princess where Link is a farmboy until monsters attack, but Twilight Princess also does it much better than this and didn't need to rely on tired tropes to do it
@coriander HOWEVER, link spending all day with his head in the clouds because sheik is such a cute boy is very good and they did that part well
