Thinking about how Skyrim overuses the Elder Scrolls so much that they become kinda meaningless

In general I think fantasy stories right now are too afraid of mysteries in the world

@coriander honestly this is one of the top reasons i like pokémon

@Lady Yeah, I feel like the past few generations of games have kind of made all the weird mysterious stuff a little too literal but i love how old Pokedex entries are literally just folklore

@coriander it's true, gen ii–iv was peak for this kind of thing

but legends arceus was pretty good at it also

@Lady Arceus honestly does seem like it would be great for it, it's prolly the only recent PKMN game I'm actually even kinda interested in

@coriander i think if you're only going to play one switch-era pokémon game it should be that one tbh

@coriander the thing about sword is that they actually did a pretty good job porting pokémon gameplay to a new platform, but they ran out of time to put cool things in it and then abandoned the attempt for BDSP and SV

i like the game *engine* there’s just not enough *game*

@coriander and then SV swings wildly the other way with the best plot and story of any main-series pokémon game but the worst gameplay imaginable

@Lady @coriander though funnily enough i am more than a little bit afraid of what the story is gonna be like in the final dlc because it seems like they are planning on explaining too much

@coriander like i have a whole rant i could probably go on about how pokémon is gothic fantasy but like

they live in a world with magic creatures and they do science with them in a mundane way but also never forget that they are magic, it’s great
