I was trying an interesting technique I saw from a cookbook today where you pull out all of the solids from your stew, and some butter, and cook the broth for 30 minutes. It's supposed to make the broth richer
However, my butter seems rank and immediately ruined the broth. But strangely, the rest of the butter doesn't taste bad? I am very confused about this

Bumby Closdsa' bought some butter;
"But," said he, "this butter's bitter!
If I put it in my broth
It will make my broth bitter.
But a bit o' better butter
Will but make my broth better."
Then he bought a bit o' butter
Better than the bitter butter,
Made his bitter broth better.
So 'twas better Bumby Closdsa'
Bought a bit o' better butter.
