@coriander I read all of dune so now you have to watch space dandy. It's The Rules
question when you say all of dune, how many books and were you masochistic enough to include the ones his son collaborated on because I hear most people tell you to stop before that
@lapis @coriander "all of dune" here means all of the singular novel "dune" and not the entire franchise that also goes by "dune"
@lapis @coriander Dune is about 188k words, and the average adult reads at a rate of 238 wpm, meaning Dune should take 13 hours to read. However, I am a slow reader and Dune forced me to reread many sections multiple times to understand what was happening so I will very conservatively add three additional hours to that estimation.
Space Dandy as a series is 8 hours long so you actually have to watch it twice.
@wallhackio @lapis This is how I learned I read above average pace
@coriander @lapis how long did it take you to read dune 1?
@wallhackio @lapis But in terms of WPM I average around 290-300
Depending on various factors the range seems to be 280-310 or so
@wallhackio @lapis The first time I finished it I don't remember for sure how long but when I last read it in Feb it took 10 days
