@wallhackio spider-verse 2 but no spider-verse 1?

@wallhackio damn i gotta heavy disagree then i liked 1 more than 2 im still not sure how i feel about 2 but i havent rewatched it since i saw it in theatres
@Ghast 1 is a good movie!
maybe this is obvious but when i say "good movie" in the top post i am exaggerating quite a bit. all the movies on the list are movies that i love. there are quite a few good movies that i like that aren't there
a lot of people love spider-verse 1 and that is great. for me it was competently-made film heavily elevated by the incredible art style
the second movie has more time to breathe and slow down, especially early on, and i think its lets the emotional resonance really really hit
plus its possibly the greatest looking film ever made
i know a lot of people were disappointed with the cliffhanger ending. but the movie is really gwen's story, and the conclusion for that is extremely satisfying on an emotional and thematic level
but that is also a personal taste thing. i care much more about characters and themes than plot/lore
@wallhackio very fair im being partly jokey when i disagree, i def need to get around to rewatch 2 (i had it pirated but then my old harddrive died and all of my movies except the live action horror movies got lost) trying to remember what my issues were on first watch its been a while i think i wasnt super into the multiverse stuff tbh like in the first movie its just a few but the second is so full of them and i guess the cliffhanger does bother me a little but thats because i do tend to prefer self-contained stories thats partly why im not really into sequels to begin with i suppose
@wallhackio its definitely all personal taste thats the beauty of the world
@Ghast 1 is perhaps a more "perfect" film in the sense that it completely nails what its trying to do and works so well as a standalone film
and its lands it emotional beats quite well
maybe i am a hater, i could stand to give it a second go
