people whine and complain about how hard regex is. like it's impossible to truly learn, and even more impossible to read regex someone else wrote, or that you wrote last week

in hindsight i think this was an earlier symptom of the complete unwillingness to learn anything that's become more obvious recently

like, yeah, there are unreadable regex patterns floating around in production software. the kind of thing you look at and become scared right away. they shouldn't have written it like that. when i write regex it looks like /\(\d{3}\) ?\d{3}-\d{4}/

no one's allowed to make fun of me for writing the regex in this post wrong the first time. making mistakes is normal

@monorail you are, in fact, Normal, so I trust your opinion on the matter

@wallhackio i feel like you're making fun of me and yet the words you're saying are correct

@monorail I hope it comes off as good-natured ribbing and not genuinely insulting

@monorail @vaporeon_ @wallhackio people are like "T is so normal, they're not even a Pokémon, they're just a person" and like ya'll will find out what's up once I catch you all
