The thing about Shinji (Note: I have not seen the Rebuild movies) is as fun as the "Get in the Fucking Robot" meme is (Though tbf I totally understand it in the "get in the fukken robot or Rei will have to" one) Shinji is a depressed person who wants love who is living in a fucked up situation.

It is EASY to say "If I were Shinji I would simply get in the robutt" but I honestly think hating him is sort of like hating yourself especially if you're depressed.

This might be a STRANGE comparison to make but hear me out.

The FFX Laughing Scene that is often linked to as an example of "wow this dub is awful" (gonna also say: That game had a lot of weird fucked up technical constraints regarding the dub because the codebase was a mess and THAT is why Yuna is sped up and always saying YEP. Anyway I think the cast, as much as some of them have gone off the deep-end generally did a good job with what they were given)

The Scene is SUPPOSED to sound like horribly artificial / fake laughter because the scene in context is about forcing laughter. I'm pretty sure the JP voice track will have that scene sound forced and fake too but I haven't played in JP so who knows.

I mean Don't get me wrong I do NOT like Tidus as a character (name him Re-Jecht it's really funny) but I unfortunately have to come to his defense for that particular scene/.

Anyway my point is sometimes memes and mocking things miss the point contextually.

Anyway I really want to watch Eva now but I think it would be a bad idea but maybe I can schedule it for the future after my next ECT or something.
