Rotating in my head the idea that wizards all have ridiculous and overdramatic names not because they were given those names but because, similar to monks, when they put on their robe and wizard hat and are accepted into the order they take on a new name

Nobody is going to name their child Xarthansus the Wizened, but the kind of guy who would get into becoming a wizard would absolutely name HIMSELF that
