sometimes when im programming for gamedev i'll be like "oh god im not doing this in any sort of robust or expandable way what if people realize how hacky this implementation is". and then i remember how incredibly frequently i'll play a game that just, doesnt even do stuff like combining and normalizing player movement axis so going diagonally ends up being two times faster than it's supposed to be. it makes me realize you can make a game bad and naively and it can still be good sometimes
