We cracked open the fruitcake we made a year ago and left in the fridge and, friends

It was a success!

It turns out, if you drown something in brandy and then bury it in sugar, seal it in an airtight container, leave it in the fridge, it will survive!

Like, this is something that's not new at all so it's not like I didn't expect it to work, but it still felt weird to be eating something I know for a fact is over a year old and we didn't cram full of artificial preservatives

Anyway fruitcake is good and now that I've had it I genuinely don't understand how people wouldn't like it
