So yt-dlp is going to require JavaScript library now

github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issue

By default, pulls in something called "Deno" that only exists as a binary in the Gentoo repositories, which makes me not trust it at all (What are you hiding?! Why no source codes?)
And also the binary is only for amd64 and arm64 architectures, no x86, no PPC

Blergh

Is :vaporeon: really going to get locked out of YouTube completely?

@vaporeon_ Deno is fantastic so I'm sorry you can't run it

@vaporeon_ Deno is what happened when the guy who made nodejs was like "what if nodejs was good, actually"

@vaporeon_ in all seriousness I'm very sorry you will be locked out of ytdlp, that is a huge loss

@wallhackio I hope that I can still be able to see videos, for now... Who knows when YouTube will break it completely:

Support for YouTube without a JavaScript runtime is now considered "deprecated." It does still work somewhat; however, format availability will be limited, and severely so in some cases (e.g. for logged-in users). Format availability without a JS runtime is expected to worsen as time goes on, and this will not be considered a "bug" but rather an inevitability for which there is no solution. It's also expected that, eventually, support for YouTube will not be possible at all without a JS runtime.

@wallhackio Still, it's a nasty surprise to see when I just wanted to check whether there are updates to yt-dlp (because a video that one of y'all sent me was giving error message about age restriction)
