@wallhackio I don’t really do computer hardware and electronics but I’d like to learn, I just don’t really know where to start
I’m not a very good programmer either though so idk if I can consider myself a computer toucher. I’m a poser
@wallhackio I’m not joking like it actually exploded there was a pop with sparks and it smelled like it was burning
@cam @wallhackio magic smoke got out
@cam i dont know much about hardware but thats probably not a good thing
@cam @wallhackio Would it help you if I took some pictures of computer interiors of my desktop computers and sent them to you?
Personally I started improving my computer hardware skills by getting an older computer (and a PSU that didn't actually match it, but it was good enough, we just had to solder a floppy power connector to it, I got help with that from the guy who gave me the old computer, I don't know how you would do this if you don't know anyone offline who is willing to help you...) where nobody will be angry at me if I break it
And I bought a hard drive for it and wired up the IDE cables and found a graphics card
It wasn't anything that you can't find and read online, but at least for me personally, I absorb knowledge a lot better if I actually did it, if I have real experience with it
@vaporeon_ @wallhackio potentially, I don't really have the time for it now though, perchance after I defend my dissertation
@cam @wallhackio Alright, remind me whenever you have the free time, my memory is bad enought that I'll certainly have forgotten it at that point
@vaporeon_ @wallhackio I will, thank you!
@cam i dont remember how it all fits together i am terrified i will have to fix it someday
its the hardware version of the code comment "do not change this, no one knows how this works but we need this for it to compile"
@wallhackio I want to build a pc when my desktop breaks down, unfortunately i didn’t have the time when i got this one (the power supply on my previous computer literally exploded and took out the main board with it)
