I’ll be real I don’t think medical school admissions criteria are an adequate metric in the slightest for who will be a good doctor and I don’t think they’ll bother doing any research into whether these criteria predict success in practice. this is because a large number of MDs are egotistical fucks who are more interested in self aggrandizement than helping people
I say this as someone who has seen and trained undergrads in research and can pretty easily pick out the ones that have the qualities of a good medical doctor. a lot of them have a brutal time trying to get into med school. not to mention the absurdity in how much it costs to study for and take the mcat and how much interviews cost
@cam I was a grader for a physics class designed for non-engineering and physics students (so it was almost entirely attended by pre-med students) and I was very confused by the difficulty of the class. why do doctors need to do math about a box sliding on a ramp makes no sense to me
