Downloaded and installed the base game (downloads 6+7) from here https://macintoshgarden.org/games/the-sims-2, that went OK, but it doesn't want to start without the original disc (which I don't have) and also I want the expansion packs, too...
@vaporeon_ after some googling i found a github repo from 2023 with some instructions for getting the sims 2 to run on linux, would you like the link?
@wallhackio I want to run it on the Macintosh on Mac OS X, sorry
@wallhackio I assume that the Linux thingy would be through Wine?
@vaporeon_ these instruction recommend using DXVK, something i have never heard of before
@vaporeon_ "A Vulkan-based translation layer for Direct3D 8/9/10/11 which allows running 3D applications on Linux using Wine." oh it's wine lol
@wallhackio Vulkan
How do I find out whether my graphics card can even support Vulkan?
@vaporeon_ what's wrong with vulcan?
@wallhackio I'm mostly just annoyed at having to set up Yet Another Thing
Supposedly, it's more modern and faster or whatever
But I don't even know how to find out whether my graphics card can support Vulkan! Even though that sort of thing should be document somewhere!
@vaporeon_ forgive my grave spelling mistake
