@vaporeon_ hello friend in the computer are you still awake
@wallhackio Tried to rest in bed while The Sims 2 are downloading, but then I heard noises from the HDD and hoped that the compile that I started today morning finally finished compiling... But no. Got excited for nothing. I wonder how many more days or weeks it's going to take.
@vaporeon_ what are you compiling?
@wallhackio Gentoo split-usr OpenRC stage1 for PowerPC
@wallhackio And after that, I will have to compile the stage3, which will take even longer...
I didn't expect QEMU to be so slow on such a powerful x86_64 computer, but apparently, it is...
@wallhackio Actually I'm not sure whether this is slower or faster than compiling on real PowerPC hardware
But also I don't really want to leave my PowerBook running for multiple days compiling software without a break getting very hot, worried it'll overheat and break...
The x86_64 PC is a desktop, it'll be fine
And it also has a lot more RAM
@wallhackio Actually, "started it today morning" is not true, I started it yesterday evening!
Just, this morning I saw that it's still not done and I restarted it with different parameters (when you restart it, it re-uses the already-compiled binary packages instead of compiling them again, so that's fine), to see whether that'd make it faster...
@wallhackio Yeah
