i like my fightstick. i also think leverless controllers are neat, no problem with leverless controllers. are they objectively optimal compared to normal fightsticks? sure, probably, whatever. they're cool

but i saw a video online of a fightstick that had the normal fightstick stick input, but the up direction was completely disconnected. if you input 47896 the game would see 44566 instead. and then there was a single "up" button where you'd expect it on a leverless controller

and that made me feel visceral disgust. you know what, fuck that and fuck you. get out of here
