@cam probably worth it
@wallhackio yeah, I’ve always wanted a fancy pen like that but I feel like expensive pens have the same quality control issues as cheap pens and if I spent $200 on a pen and it didn’t write well I’d crash out (also I can’t justify spending that amount of money on a pen for myself, even though I think they’re worth the price because of the skilled labor and artistry required to make them)
@wallhackio I do think for that price they should be having a nib maker inspect and tune them or at least have that as an option for an additional fee cause like. that shit should write like butter!!
@cam i never thought about tryharding pens before. a whole new world has just been exposed to me
@wallhackio r/fountainpens is a dangerous place
that being said you can get started with a pretty inexpensive pen and just try out a lot of cool and pretty ink colors. some have sheen and other neat properties
@cam @wallhackio Is that your handwriting? The uppercase letters are so pretty
@vaporeon_ @wallhackio I wish, this is from the internet (I just picked organics studio nitrogen because it’s famous for its sheen, but I don’t own it because it doesn’t really play well with a lot of pens)
@vaporeon_ @wallhackio I’ll try to find a page in my planner with a good fountain pen ink demo lol
@cam @vaporeon_ "You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?"
@vaporeon_ @wallhackio WELL these were the neatest examples I could find
@cam @vaporeon_ am i insane or is this perfectly decent handwriting
@wallhackio @vaporeon_ I write in a mix of both usually
@cam @wallhackio I would have shown here a paper of me writing something, but since the scanner that I recently bought (super cheaply, it cost me 2€) doesn't work, I guess I can't...
@wallhackio @vaporeon_ I honestly can’t tell because it’s mine so I can read it, like I don’t think it’s really messy I just don’t know if it’s legible
@cam @vaporeon_ i now designate myself the Arbiter of Handwriting Legibility and with my powers I deem this Legible
@cam @wallhackio It is quite easy to read, saying as someone who has had to stare at papers to try to figure out what the words are...
@wallhackio @cam It's unusual to see someone write in "print" letters instead of "handwriting" letters (you know, the one where the letters are connected), but otherwise, it looks fine to me!
If I try to write in "print" letters, I always end up messing up the kerning SMH
