Set up a training program for a metric century

Here's what January looks like in terms of training rides

I'm prolly gonna turn this into a ride journal thread just as another level of accountability

Broke 5 miles on a short interval exercise. Feels great being back.

I guess maybe I should use 🦵 instead of 💪 on account of how I'm riding but nobody has ever flexed their thigh symbolically

Also let's be real, the leg emoji kinda sucks

Good ride today except for I didn't fuel up enough beforehand and bonked right when I was finishing, which is throwing everything off as I am rushing to put sugar and calories in my system before taking a shower

Ride report

I've been doing this for a full week now and I still have this spare tire, what gives??? I should be slim and svelte already!!

Got a ride scheduled for today but given the Germs Situation I'm gonna skip it

Was definitely feeling it towards the end of the intervals

Honestly I'm gonna round this up to 10 miles and nobody can stop me

Woke up late so I didn't get onto the bike til much later than I normally like but still got the ride in

Another tomorrow, first time in this regimen I've got two back to back

Hard yet satisfying ride today. First time I've had to do 5 sets of intervals instead of 3 and of course they're the hard ones to do lmao

Threshold Intervals for back to back days is fucking evil

If it had been more than 3 sets I'm not sure I would have finished

I thought I had a nice aerobic ride scheduled for today

Nope! More intervals

Felt great today and had to actually up my resistance to maintain zone 2 heart rate, which led to an increase in distance for these hour long rides

Feeling gewd

Missed a ride yesterday because of sleep but got today's in nice and early

I've been watching Black Sails while I ride

It's pretty good!

First ride with my new, functional heart rate monitor and wow relying on my watch had me going not nearly hard enough

Getting really dialed in at 7.5 mph on these aerobic rides

Got a 2-hour ride coming on Friday, we'll see if I hit 15

It's funny, I never mark myself feeling "strong" on the aerobic days, despite the fact that an hour solid is beginning to become nowhere near enough (which I assume is why tomorrow I get to eat these words with a 2 hour ride)

This was actually scheduled to only be an hour ride but I got my schedule confused and thought it was two so I was all worked up for a long ride so I split the difference and did 90 minutes

It's getting real annoying getting to the end of this thread tbh

Anyway repeats are still evil but I am noticably stronger than I was in January already and THAT feels good as hell

There's some kind of mismatch between the readings my watch gets from my wheel sensor and the readings my computer gets so I'm gonna split the difference and say I got like 17.1 miles today

I take back everything I've ever said against a ride

THIS shit was truly Evil
