it's fun how with historical names, some of them are still in widespread use more or less unchanged and others are completely unfamiliar

for example: the brothers Harold, Gyrth, and Leofwine Godwinson (who all died in the Battle of Hasting)

you can argue that the inclusive counting thing is a legitimate convention but consider: after the introduction of the Julian calendar, for the next 34 years the priests in charge of the calendar got confused and added a leap day every third year instead of every fourth.

big disadvantage of playing with strangers is that, compared to playing with friends, it both:

  1. increases the likelihood of interpersonal conflicts
  2. decreases the motivation for (+ increases the difficulty and emotional cost of) working through those conflicts
