i defeated my betrothed in our post-Grant doubles battle :)
it ended up being my swirlix, roselia, lucario, and frogadier versus zir snorlax, bagon, lucario, and pikachu.
Sadly, at this point in the game, Pikachu is just too squishy to get to exploit Light Ball, and unevolved Dragon-types just cannot handle Fairy Wind. It was a close battle overall, though. Snorlax can really do quite a lot if you let it.

i defeated my betrothed in our post-Gym-1 battle. :) i got rather lucky with dunsparce’s rollout. landed four hits and took out zir pikachu. i was a bit worried because fennekin was at nearly full health and i didn’t have a clear answer left, but it turned out farfetch’d was able to clean up just fine.

due to technical issues we're gonna try and do gen vi instead. Now zie has Fennekin and I have Froakie. But there's all three monkeys and Pikachu before the first gym, so. lots of flexibility there type-wise.

zie has Oshawott and I have Tepig so i'm real curious how the Oshawott+Pansear versus Tepig+Pansage dynamic's going to play out in double battles.

we're gonna do singles after odd-numbered gyms and doubles after even-numbered (assuming it's possible to do both over WFC)
