(i am relatedly only now realizing the guy in the birds isn't the same guy as in any of the other hitchcock films i've watched)

@alyssa tense! shot in one room including the marvellous view. there's a real cozy factor i like, looking in all the windows, lots of atmospheric city/neighbourhood noise that's very thrilling for a country girl like me, but the main characters can be sort of unlikeable, a bit creepy, generally in a way that would have been borderline acceptable to the executive filmmakers i'm sure. it's a comfort rewatch for people i live with but i also enjoy it plenty. thelma ritter is a scene stealer imo
