OpenBSD appears to be on both the "projects that use LLMs" and "projects that reject LLMs" list that I thought were ran by the same person 🤦
Correction: They're not run by the same person, not sure why I thought they where, now I need to yell at myself for not double-checking what I thought I remembered before posting.
@vaporeon_ i mean, regardless of whether they use LLMs or not, the lead dev Theo de Raat is pawsibly even more toxic and unwelcoming than Linus Torvalds, so i hold some skepticism towards the overall soundness of their work anyway
(i say this as someone actively interested in using OpenBSD on the server—the base system is extremely pawerful to the to extent that you can feasibly run an Actual Server doing Actually Useful Things without installing any packages at all)
@aescling Noted. I didn't know. (Honestly, I saw how many platforms NetBSD supports and how many platforms the other BSDs support and my choice was clear...)
I definitely like the BSDs' approach of having a complete base system where everything I expect a fully-featured UNIX to have is already there (even the games such as
quizandwump, if during installations you select the games set). From what I remember, the main things I installed weregit,tmux, and a bunch of web browsers and an e-mail client and such, things that cannot be part of a base installation because everyone has different preferences on what web browser and e-mail client is best anyway
