/r/plural is a dogshit subreddit but it's dogshit in a way that's nobody's fault. like "you shouldn't have to go online and say 'this is how my system works, am i valid? is this allowed??' but we're all products of an internet where every public space was run by teenagers and nobody learned how not to be a teenager, so i get it. i'm thirty years old and maybe i can be helpful to teenagers who could use it"

today i did have my first run in with a mod and i'm just kind of baffled that it happened

everybody is 14 forever, because our spaces are descended from spaces that were run by 14 year olds. and you're supposed to stop being 14 once you turn 15, but it's really hard to stop being 14 when you've cultivated a community that values being 14. so you have all these 15 year old 14 year olds surrounded by 14 year old 14 year olds, who are still 14 when they turn 16, until you have a critical mass of 14 year olds of all ages and everyone is 14 forever
