@ashly What if you lower it to the lowest quality?
@vaporeon_ Results in bizarre swings that range from 30-70%.
@vaporeon_ Unreal seriously has to be one of the worst engines out there.
@vaporeon_ There also appears to be an FPS cap, meaning I can't see how much higher low vs "epic" would be otherwise. Both result in 60 FPS.
@ashly Do the low setting consume any less RAM and VRAM?
@vaporeon_ I wasn't looking at VRAM before! System memory however is nearly unchanged. It reports 11.5 now so maybe it saved an entire 100MB.
@ashly Thanks. I guess I shouldn't bother then, especially since I'd need to install Wine first, not super motivated to try to figure out how to run a Windows-only game...
@vaporeon_ The Steam client takes care of the messy details for you.
@ashly Then I'd have to figure out how to install the Steam client, which is most probably (correct me if I'm wrong) proprietary software and therefore a big mess
@vaporeon_ @ashly overlay. overlay was the term i was looking fur
@aescling @vaporeon_ I guess I'm neutral, but we don't know a lot about Gentoo. I thought of Steam overlay.
@aescling @vaporeon_ Image laid over another. I can press shift+tab to see a Steam interface over the game.
@vaporeon_ @ashly @aescling steam overlay is just the interface that you can open up on top of your game to access stuff like your friends list
@vaporeon_ @aescling Overlay? Did I miss something?
