If I ever do decide to run my own instance, it'll be some other Fediverse server software and not Mastodon...
Whatever is least demanding on the computer and its memory, I suppose
@vaporeon_ i would recommend GoToSocial, which my friends seem to like, but iirc you have issues using the Go toolchain, and it’s a Go purrogram

Does anyone around here actually use it for their Fediverse instance? I know of some people here running GoToSocial and being happy with it, but haven't heard of them using SNAC... (But perhaps I can be the first to try...)
@vaporeon_ @aescling I see random posts from snac users sometimes but I don't think any of my mutuals are on it
it's also the basis for a few bots iirc
@aescling Yeah... Then again, I think if I ever wanted to run my own Fediverse instance, I would need a better hardware than the Raspberry Pi 1B+, especially if the GoToSocial really eats entire 512MB of RAM, and my Raspberry has in total 512MB of RAM...
