What is it with retrocomputing YouTubers and having two channels? Can someone explain? Why have two instead of just one?

youtube is a terrible platform 

@vaporeon_ in general, youtubers like to have a second channel because youtube can heavily punish a channel fur releasing a video that does not “perform well”, genuinely potentially ruining your ability to find an audience with safe videos that should always work, leading to a content creation strategy where you keep reasonably safe videos on your main channel, and do more or less whatever else you want on the second channel that’s not your moneymaker
