Genuinely I tried to read Capitalist Realism because everyone touts it as this, like, cornerstone of contemporary leftist thought and I couldn't get more than two chapters in

The writing was not great, I couldn't tell what any of the points he was actually trying to make were, and it was doomerism all the way down

@coriander i remember once reading one of his final blog posts when i heard about his book and then being turned off from the idea of reading the book by the, uh, writing… quality. so i’m not at all surpurrised to hear this
