Fake terminal, as opposed to a real VT100 or other terminal connected to your computer
VT100 and such just used serial, right? So with the correct adapter (perhaps 25-pin to 9-pin serial, but not sure), you could probably connect a real terminal to your modern computer's serial port! If you had a real terminal...
