I got the the "Gaming Copilot" thing on my desktop that someone on here mentioned a few days ago

disabled it and every time Microsoft does some new bullshit with its operating system I go "is this the straw that broke the camel's back? is it time for me to switch OSes?"

and then I think about the disruption such a switch would cause and think "nah the camel can take on a bit more straw methinks"

it is not that I don't have the skills to switch to and use a Linux distro. It is that I simply am unwilling to expend the requisite effort and the corresponding time

I don't like fiddling with computer bullshit like I did when I was a teenager, just isn't all that interesting to me anymore

at this point I am more likely to give up on Windows gaming and get a desktop Mac than I am to use desktop Linux tbh

as an additional factor, doing Linux admin as part of my dayjob doesn't make me want to use desktop Linux more, I'll tell y'all that much

if I'm ever like "fuck it I'm switching to Gentoo" and I'm being serious about it, consider it a good time to ask if I'm doing okay

because something has gone awry if I'm doing that lol

the joke of this partially is that I used to run Gentoo as my primary desktop operating system back in the day

it taught me a lot of things but the primary lesson I took from it is "oh this is why Ubuntu exists" as you watch Chromium compile for 90 minutes
