What sort of phrasing is "wherefore art thou"? I know "thou" = "you" (informal), like German "du"
But what's up with "wherefore"?

@vaporeon_ “therefore” is an archaic construction preserved in modern english anyway that emotionally means ”for that [reason]”. “wherefore” is an archaic way of saying “for what reason”, but is rather uncommon except when quoting that one shakespeare line

@aescling I use "therefore" all the time (at least in formal writing), but I've never heard of a "therefrom"! This is very interesting :blobcatsurprised:
