in a bid to use the Toronto Public Library system more I have put holds on a bunch of books in that pile that have been in there for a while (alongside some new books that I want to read/am curious about)

so I have *checks list* Intermezzo by Salley Rooney and Piranesi by Susanna Clarke "in transit"

The TPL system has *419* copies of Intermezzo with 214 holds on it currently, don't think I've ever seen the system have that many copies of a single book

as a tertiary effect I'll save a little bit of money not buying ebook copies of these books from the Kobo store

I don't mind spending money on books because I love them but also because books are *cheap* relative to other forms of media one can buy

even a hardcover new book that is CA$40 is a full 60 bucks cheaper than a AAA video game for example and ebooks are usually cheaper ~CA$15-20 each depending on the book

also picking up a bunch of holds from the local library, putting them in my book bag is a activity that gives easy good brain chemicals for me

( and also returning them once I'm done reading them is oddly satisfying too )

scanning and checking out a bunch of books using the self-checkout system at the library :floshed:
