What is "vibe coding" and why do I keep seeing that word on the timeline

re: open at your own risk

@aescling

There's a new kind of coding I call "vibe coding", where you fully give in to the vibes

You literally don't need an LLM for that, you can just sit down in vim and start typing, no prior planning, if you want to. I sometimes do that until I run into a big obstacle and have to start actually thinking about how I want my code to be structured.

It's possible because the LLMs (e.g. Cursor Composer w Sonnet) are getting too good.
