it turns out that acetaminophen (tylenol) use by pregnant mothers has been linked to higher rates of adhd in their children, oops... that's probably part of why i'm so weird haha

@aescling @kit Tylenol is just weird stuff, and we have only a relatively vague idea of why it works. It is also known to ease emotional pain (see for example https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/12/04/567762087/tylenol-may-help-ease-the-pain-of-hurt-feelings ), but may also blunt empathy. ("It does these things but we're not sure why" is true of a surprising amount of medicine, really.)
