we tried to do both of those things
and now... we've got a nice space with folks who are genuinely caring, in a tiny corner of the fedi with the few folks who give a shit about justice
but mastodon and fedi as a whole aren't worth it
@starfall unfortunately the codebase has made me mad enough to try to make some changes upstream lol
