i'm sorry both to bully the youths and to out myself as the kind of millennial who in 2013 was saying "i DO think being frugal is underrated though" but it's actually crazy how real the gen z stare is. in the weirdest contexts, too.
no offense but if you're front of house at a restaurant and you do your job by saying HI! 👁️ 👄 👁️ like what are we doing here? girl ask me how big the party is or if i want patio or a booth.
@elena i do think part of the problem here is that we’ve just totally forgotten about job training, as a society. it used to be when you got hired you’d follow around some more senior waitstaff while they explained all this to you
@Satsuma oh yeah that's absolutely part of it, was a noticeable trend even when i was that age
@Satsuma i mean my experience has been that the bosses are mostly gen x but also that needing to train people to respond normally in casual social situations is uh. pretty new
