@gaditb i mean i feel like it still gets blurry on similar lines—many people are extremely possessive about their car and would be mad if i said they shouldnt be allowed to own one but like, also almost everyone can get by just fine with good public transit, bike/pedestrian friendly streets and a car share service and the few who can’t can have gov’t issued cars they don’t actually own and it would be Fine
@Satsuma Yeah I don't disagree about that -- I wasn't talking about picking a different definition, tho (.. do I understand it well enough to GIVE a definition?), but literally just swapping the term.
Like instead of "private property, which is a term you recognize but I mean this ad-hoc definition that isn't an angle you've ever considered, and the thing you were thinking of is 'personal property' " just swapping in the term "impersonal property", which doesn't have a preset definition, and also feels closer in the "best-guess" definition to what they're going for.
Like "private property" in this sense ISN'T "property you are distanced from enough that you are just impersonally making money from it and no personal experience with it", but that gets you most of the way there.
