Just once I'd like to see a story about the all-male race of space bandits whose reproduction strategy involves kidnapping unsuspecting alien women, taking them back to their clean and well-decorated spaceships, walking around oiled and shirtless, and serving fresh-baked muffins and rosé while politely explaining their comprehensive health- and childcare policies. I think this would be a much more effective strategy, honestly.

@alis you could probably even skip the kidnappings and just have a signup form if the muffins and comprehensive health and childcare policies were good enough

@Satsuma@glitch.cat.family I feel that the kidnappings would have to be part of it. For, like. The Drama. Like a mating ritual or something. Also because all the other planets would definitely spread lies and slander about the Slutty Pirate Boy Harem Race to prevent their fertile (and/or just horny) populations running off to join them…

@alis split the difference and still do kidnappings but you only take the people on the signup sheet

its such a hassle kidnapping people who are going to say no, then you have to figure out how to put them back!

@Satsuma@glitch.cat.family Okay, hear me out. Maybe Slutty Pirate Harem Guys actually really are aggressive space marauders, and they like the kidnappings because they enjoy fighting the people who lead "rescue parties." It's all actually just a big elaborate kayfabe production that no-one else is in on.

Follow

@alis distressingly plausible — and it incentivizes them improving their benefits packages because they have to pretend to loose against the the next rescue mission anytime someone wants out (which is fun in moderation! but a lot more work than just winning if you’re trying to keep casualties down)

@Satsuma@glitch.cat.family Exactly! Really feel this vision is coming together… :ablobcatnod:
