Curious: if you leave comments on re-reads of fics, do you do so on popular fics with lots of comments? (I’m talking fics with more than 100 comments on each chapter). I don’t leave comments every time I reread, but I like to leave a simple “reread kudos” every few times I reread something. I especially like to do so on fics that are unfinished, and especially ones that have been un-updated 6 months or more, not asking for an update but just as a kind of gentle reminder that some of us are still here, still loving the story, and will be delighted to read an update whenever they’re able to do one, but no pressure. But I wonder sometimes if bare bones repeated comments on fics that already have hundreds or even thousands of comments are more overwhelming than they are encouraging.
@TheBookewyrme i’m definitely a lot more likely to comment generally if a fic has few/no comments then if its got a whole bunch and that also applies to reread comments. but its more “i should make an extra effort bc itd probably mean a lot to this person” vibes than intentionally not commenting on popular stuff i feel like
@Satsuma yea that makes sense. I do have a little extra “I gotta leave a really good comment!” On fics that only have a few or even no comments, whether that’s because they’re unpopular or just because they’re too new to have gotten a lot yet.
